Higher education can seem out of reach for students who are undocumented immigrants, some of whom don’t qualify for financial aid or in-state tuition at public colleges. TheDream.US aims to help young people brought to the U.S. as children pay for undergraduate study.

Graham Holdings Company Chairman Donald Graham, who co-founded TheDream.US, and Pershing Square Capital Management founder Bill Ackman recently pledged $15 million each to the fund, kicking off its campaign to raise an additional $30 million to provide scholarships for at least 5,000 undocumented immigrants. The two each previously gave $10 million to the program.
