Cornell University announced a $25 million gift Monday from financier and alumnus David Breazzano to support construction of a new business-school building, campus newspaper The Cornell Daily Sun reports.
The Cornell College of Business’s incoming dean will recommend that the six-story academic and office building on the university’s main campus in Ithaca, N.Y., be named the Breazzano Family Center for Business Education. Mr. Breazzano, the co-founder and president of investment firm DDJ Capital Management, earned a master’s in business administration at Cornell’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management in 1980.
The Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College received a $25 million donation from an alumnus for new construction and faculty positions, Valley News writes. The gift from Barry MacLean, head of manufacturing company MacLean-Fogg, includes $15 million for a new engineering building on the Hanover, N.H., campus, and a $10 million challenge grant to establish endowed professorships.
