Big Gifts Boost Medical Services in Israel and Colo.

The Atlanta-based Marcus Foundation has donated $25 million to American Friends of Magen David Adom, the U.S. fundraising arm of Israeli emergency-services charity Magen David Adom, to build a new blood-supply facility, reports the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. The Marcus National Blood Services Center will be built in Ramle in central Israel to replace a blood facility in an area vulnerable to rocket attacks from Gaza.

Colorado State University announced an anonymous $20 million gift Wednesday to support construction of a research center focused on regenerative medicine, The Denver Post writes. The university's $65 million Institute for Biologic Translational Therapies will work to develop therapies based on the body's healing powers. Liberty Media Chairman John Malone and his wife, Leslie, donated $42.5 million for the project in late 2014.
