Boobies Rock! Founder Faces New Charity-Fraud Charges

A Colorado man who has served prison time and been ordered to pay millions of dollars for charity-related scams is facing new allegations of nonprofit fraud, reports The Denver Post. Adams County, Colo., prosecutors filed theft and fraud charges Tuesday against Adam Shryock, 35, who has tangled with authorities since 2013 over the fake fundraising organization Boobies Rock!, which sold merchandise bearing that slogan under the guise of benefiting breast-cancer charities, and similar schemes.

The new case centers around donated mattresses prosecutors say were intended to go to refugees via Ecumenical Refugee and Immigration Services, a Denver charity, but which were instead sold for profit. Mr. Shryock and Genevieve Cruz, 57, the refugee group's donations coordinator, were charged with theft of $1 million or more and charitable fraud.
