Brown U. Alumnus Gives $25 Million for Entrepreneurship Center

Brown University announced a $25 million donation Tuesday from financier and alumnus Jonathan Nelson to establish a campus hub for entrepreneurship, the Associated Press writes.

The Jonathan M. Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship will aim to encourage students to apply their classroom experience to working with developing start-up ventures, Brown President Christina Paxson said. Mr. Nelson, a 1977 Brown graduate, is the founder and CEO of Providence Equity Partners, a private-equity firm that manages $45 billion in assets.
