Business-Led 'B Team' to Promote Corporate Social Efforts

Billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson and Jochen Zeitz, director of luxury and lifestyle firm Kering, on Thursday formally launched a nonprofit organization that aims to encourage multinational businesses to figure social and environmental goals into their bottom lines, the BBC and sustainability news site BusinessGreen report.

The B Team, which the moguls initially announced last year, will promote "a new way of doing business that prioritizes people and planet alongside profit." It consists of 14 business and nonprofit leaders from around the world, including Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington, Grameen Bank leader Mohammad Yunus, United Nations Foundation President Kathy Calvin, and Ratan Tata, former head of Indian conglomerate the Tata Group.
