Casino Mogul Donates $18-Million to Agassi School

Las Vegas resorts tycoon Kirk Kerkorian has pledged $18-million to the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, the tennis star's charter school for needy students, says the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The gift was announced Saturday at an annual benefit for the foundation, which raised $8.1-million more for the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, which runs the school.

The K-12 school, located in a neighborhood in central Las Vegas, provides tuition-free education for more than 1,000 local students.

Earlier this year Mr. Kerkorian, the largest stockholder in MGM Resorts International, wound up his Lincy Foundation, turning over its $200-million in assets to the University of California at Los Angeles to establish a new charity, the Dream Fund.
