An adult website established to raise money for charitable causes is finding few organizations willing to accept its gifts, writes Salon. Hump the Bundle has raised nearly $15,000 since launching about two months ago. While the site has found a handful of partners, partners, including the Foundation for Sex Positive Culture and AbleGamers, which develops video games for disabled people, most would-be beneficiaries have rejected its overtures, saying that accepting the gifts would court controversy and drive away other donors.
“I don’t think charities love the idea of giving money back, and even worse — paying staff members to figure out what money is icky enough to refuse,” said the site’s creator, quoted by Salon under an off-color pseudonym. “But they feel they’re put in this situation by their rich and/or religious donors. Why risk it?”
