Colorado State U. Gets $20 Million for Football Stadium

Colorado State University received an anonymous $20 million gift to support construction of a new on-campus football stadium, reports the Reporter-Herald of Loveland, Colo. The donor stipulated that the playing field at the new facility be named for Sonny Lubick, who coached the Colorado State team for 15 seasons.

The $220 million stadium will replace the Rams' current home, located off-campus, and is expected to open in 2017, Athletic Director Joe Parke said. While the field itself will honor Mr. Lubick, the gift allows for the option of a naming-rights deal for the stadium as a whole, university officials said.
