David Rubenstein Gives $20 Million to N.J. Academic Center

Billionaire financier David Rubinstein has donated $20 million to the Institute for Advanced Study, a research and academic center in Princeton, N.J., reports The Princeton Packet.

The gift will support construction of a new building, to be called Rubenstein Commons, with conference, meeting, and office space to serve the institute's faculty and visiting scholars, according to an institute statement. Mr. Rubenstein, co-founder of the Washington, D.C.-based Carlyle Group, is a trustee of the institute, which conducts theoretical research in the sciences and humanities.
