Fla. Man Admits $2-Million Theft From Medical Nonprofits

A Windermere, Fla., man pleaded guilty in federal court in Maryland on Thursday to stealing more than $2 million from two nonprofits at which he held leadership posts, reports the Associated Press. Prosecutors said Michael Parry, 58, diverted payments from the American Registry of Pathology and the International Registry of Pathology to a personal account he controlled.

Mr. Parry was executive director of the American Registry, a group with offices in Maryland and Delaware that supports pathology services in the armed forces. He was also treasurer of the International Registry, which promotes the pathological research in the the developing world. Mr. Parry is scheduled to be sentenced on December 18 and faces up to 20 years in prison.
