Grants Roundup: William Penn Foundation Donates $15 Million for Park Project

A William Penn Foundation grant will provide a major boost to the planned Penn's Landing Park along the Delaware River in Philadelphia.

Here are notable new grant awards compiled by The Chronicle:

William Penn Foundation

$15 million to the Penn’s Landing Park project, which will connect the Delaware riverfront with Philadelphia’s historic district.

Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation

Up to $10 million in matching grants to the Semper Fi Fund’s programs serving ill and injured military members.

JPMorgan Chase & Co.

$1.2 million to six community-development programs in Detroit working to remove blight, create businesses, and improve housing options. Recipients include Grandmont Rosedale Community Stabilization Program, Eastside Community Network, and Community Development Advocates of Detroit.

Got Your 6 and Macy’s

$1.1 million to 20 charities for programs that serve veterans, including Blue Star Families, Justice for Vets, and Points of Light.

Prudential Foundation

$1 million over two years to Campaign for Every Kid’s Future, a project of the Corporation for Enterprise Development that seeks to expand the use of children’s savings accounts to provide resources for college education.
