Howard W. Buffett to Lead Father's Foundation

Howard W. Buffett, the grandson of the billionaire investor and philanthropist Warren Buffett, will become executive director of the foundation created by his father, Howard G. Buffett, says the Omaha World-Herald.

The younger Mr. Buffett, 27, will serve at least two years in the top post at the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, starting August 1.

His father will continue to chair the foundation, which awards nearly $40-million a year for economic-development, conservation, and humanitarian projects. Much of its work supports research designed to  boost food production and help poor farmers in the developing world.

“He's been to so many countries with me and seen the way I've done things that it's amazing how he can think like I need him to think for me,” Howard G. Buffett said of his son. “He'll be able to figure out what I would do.”
