IKEA to Give $445 Million-Plus to Combat Climate Change

Retailing giant IKEA announced a commitment Thursday to pump about $447 million toward supporting families and communities in nations vulnerable to floods, droughts, and other fallout from climate change, Reuters reports.

Senior officials from about 200 nations are meeting in Bonn, Germany, this week to prepare for a Paris summit later this year intended to produce an agreement on slowing global warming. IKEA CEO Peter Agnefjall said that people "want their leaders to lead" on the issue, adding, "That includes companies like ourselves."
