Indiana U. Philanthropy School Gets Final OK

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education on Friday approved plans for Indiana University to create the country's first college-level School of Philanthropy, reports the Indianapolis Star.

The new school, situated at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, will award bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in philanthropic studies and expand on the work of the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University's flagship Bloomington campus.

"This is an important step for IUPUI and for philanthropy," said Charles R. Bantz, chancellor of the Indianapolis campus.
