NFL Star Peterson's Foundation Goes Dark Amid Abuse Case

The Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's charity was placed on hiatus and its online presence deactivated Tuesday as the NFL star faces felony child-abuse charges, ESPN reports. Bruce Richman, Mr. Peterson's philanthropy adviser, said the All Day Foundation's website and Facebook page were shut down to protect groups affiliated with the charity amid questions about his conduct.

Mr. Peterson was indicted Friday on an abuse charge stemming from his alleged use of a wooden switch to discipline his son. The Vikings placed him on their exempt list Wednesday, barring him from all team activities pending the outcome of the criminal case. Mr. Richman said the foundation's hiatus would allow partner charities to focus on their community work rather than have to deal with "the media barrage" of questions about their ties to the Mr. Peterson.
