N.Y. Developer Donates $10-Million for Law-Business Center

A New York developer who earned law and business degrees at Columbia University has pledged $10-million to help his alma mater forge closer ties between the two disciplines, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The gift from Richard Richman will establish an academic center to develop curricula and pursue research into major public-policy areas where law and business are closely intertwined, such as financial regulation and health care.

The center will be named for the Mr. Richman and run jointly by Columbia’s business and law schools.
