National Christian and Clooney Foundations Pick Leaders

The Rev. Chris Holdorf, a Baptist pastor who has also worked at several Fortune 100 companies, has been named chief executive of the National Christian Foundation.

Chris Holdorf, senior pastor at Oak Hill Baptist Church, in Griffin, Ga., was appointed chief executive of the National Christian Foundation.

The foundation, No. 9 on The Chronicle’s Philanthropy 400, which ranks the charities that raise the most money from private sources, brought in $1.4 billion in 2015, up nearly 27 percent from the previous year.

Before entering the ministry, the Rev. Holdorf spent his career in senior positions at several Fortune 100 companies, including Contel Corporation, GTE, and Southern Electric International.

Clooney Foundation for Justice

David Pressman, the U.S. deputy ambassador to the United Nations for special political affairs, was named executive director of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, a nonprofit recently created by the actor George Clooney and his wife, Amal, an international human-rights lawyer.

The foundation will work to help persecuted individuals gain access to basic necessities like education, Mr. Pressman told Reuters. (He is also joining the law firm Boies, Schiller & Flexner as a partner.)

Other notable appointments

Gratienne "Sienna" Baskin was appointed director of the Anti-Trafficking Fund at NEO Philanthropy. She was previously co-director of the Sex Workers Project at the Urban Justice Center.

Jody Frederickson, senior director of development at the University of California at San Francisco, has been named chief development officer at the Nancy and Stephen Grand Family House, in San Francisco.

Maeve Miccio, vice president for corporate responsibility at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, was named the foundation’s vice president for strategic partnerships for the Eastern region.

Sean Parnell, a public-policy consultant, has been appointed vice president for public policy at the Philanthropy Roundtable.

Joe Rossow, former principal of the Michael Dowling School, was named executive vice president for operations at Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation.

Frances Sheehan, the chief executive of Brandywine Health Foundation, will be the first chief executive of Crozer-Keystone Community Foundation.
