Lisa Rawlings will serve as the next president and CEO of this graduate-school program designed to connect promising leaders, especially women and people of color, with opportunities in the public and nonprofit sectors.
A former fellow from 2011, she most recently was a founding partner at DMG LLC, a consulting firm in Washington.
Community Foundation of Louisville
Ronald Gallo, CEO of the Santa Barbara Foundation, will become president and CEO on July 20. He succeeds Susan Barry, who stepped down in September after 10 years as president and CEO of this $558 million community fund in Kentucky.
Sesame Workshop
Kay Wilson Stalling, senior vice president of creative development, has been promoted to executive vice president of creative and production, the lead creative role at the nonprofit group that produces Sesame Street as well as the children’s programs Esme & Roy, Ghostwriter, Helpsters, and The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo.
She replaces Brown Johnson, who retired last month.

Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson will become president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Broward on August 17. Most recently she was vice president for advancement and community relations at Nova Southeastern University. She succeeds Linda Carter, who is retiring after 23 years at this community fund with $212 million in assets.
Tamar Davis, chief development officer at the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston, has been tapped as CEO of Gateways: Access to Jewish Education. Davis will succeed Arlene Remz, its founding executive director, who is retiring.
Timothy Purnell, CEO of the American Montessori Society, has been named CEO of Next for Autism.
Other Notable Appointments
Jill Davis, senior major-gifts officer at the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, has been appointed chief development officer at Family House, which provides temporary lodging for families of children who are being treated for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
Susan Dolbert, regional chief philanthropy officer at Providence Health and Services, is joining City of Hope as senior vice president of individual giving.
Victoria Dowling, senior vice president at McKendree University, will become vice president of institutional advancement at Carroll University on August 3.
Tina Duong has joined the Asia Society as vice president of external affairs. Most recently she was chief development officer at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Shane Fernando, director of the Wilson Humanities and Fine Arts Center at Cape Fear Community College, has been promoted to vice president of advancement and the arts.
Gaiane Khachatryan, director of development at the American University of Armenia, has been promoted to vice president of development and will lead the university’s Office of Development in the United States.
Trudy Lee, interim vice president of university advancement and executive director of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation, will continue in the role on a permanent basis. She stepped into the position following the retirement of Bill Holland in 2018.
Moira Mcdonald, who has led the Walton Family Foundation’s Mississippi River and Delta Program for the past 12 years, has been promoted to director of the environment program.
Rafael Morales, a program officer for the James Irvine Foundation’s Fair Work Initiative, is the new senior development, policy, and impact manager at the Self-Help Federal Credit Union. In this role, he will work to raise and manage grants, deposits, and other impact investments to help working families and underserved communities.
Sandra Nelson, vice president of the Foundation of Concordia University Chicago, has been appointed vice president for advancement at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.
Denise Soto has joined Oaks Integrated Care as chief development and communications officer. She was most recently senior director of development and communications at the Princeton Family YMCA.
Deidra Parrish Williams, strategic communications leader at Hollisder House, has been named manager of local sustainability and development at Report for America, which places young journalists in local newsrooms nationwide.
Raquel Willis, executive editor of Out Magazine, has been hired as director of communications at the Ms. Foundation for Women.
Departures
Laura McQuade, CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, has been dismissed following an open letter from current and former employees alleging “abusive behavior and financial malfeasance.”
Thomas Peters, president and CEO of the Marin Community Foundation, is retiring after 22 years at the helm.
Eric Schaeffer, founding artistic director of the Signature Theatre, resigned following accusations of sexual assault by two actors. He has worked at the theater since 1989.
