A new investigative book asserts that as secretary of state, Hillary Clinton provided favors to foreign governments who made donations to the Clinton Foundation, according to The New York Times.
Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich, by Peter Schweizer, builds on increasing scrutiny of Ms. Clinton and her foundation's gift-acceptance policies which have increased since her recent announcement that she would seek the presidency in 2016.
Though Ms. Clinton's aides did a good job of deflecting her conservative critics, this thoroughly researched book, which maintains a neutral voice, may present more fodder, the Times writes. Major news outlets including The Times, The Washington Post, and Fox News, which have exclusive agreements with the author, are going to pursue some of the book's story lines.
Last week the foundation announced a new donation policy that will allow the continuation of some foreign gifts.
