Opinion: Climate Activists Seeking to Silence Campus Critics

Liberal and environmental organizations are using disclosure demands to muzzle academics who question climate change and accept funding from the conservative Koch family, according to a Wall Street Journal columnist.

Kimberley Strassel cites efforts by campus activists to obtain documents and email correspondence from professors whose research and programs get Koch money. She also notes the UnKoch My Campus campaign, led by Greenpeace, climate activist group Forecast the Facts, and the American Federation of Teachers union.

The effort has spread to congressional Democrats, who have demanded records from scholars, nonprofits, and companies skeptical of President Obama's climate agenda, Ms. Strassel writes, terming disclosure "the left’s new weapon. And it’s shutting down debate across the country."
