Opinion: Why the Young Rich Shun 'Family Philanthropy'

Young people from wealthy families are skeptical of traditional charitable giving because of its ties to tax evasion and corporate misdeeds, writes opinion columnist Jake Hayman at Forbes.

Mr. Hayman asserts that young people of means will reject their families’ giving practices that seem self-serving. He says that they are drawn to philanthropic work designed to tackle global challenges, not simply “give back” to the community in exchange for recognition.
