S.F. Charity Head Under Fire for Blog Posts on Sex, Faith

San Francisco officials are calling for the leader of a venerable and largely government-funded family services charity to step down over posts on his personal blog that feature sexually explicit photos and self-described "twisted theology," television station KPIX and SFist write.

The flap erupted after Bob Bennett, president and CEO of the Felton Institute Family Services Agency of San Francisco, invited board and staff members to read his blog, which includes posts comparing human and animal sexual lives and outlining a theory that Christ inseminated his mother. The invitation prompted a complaint of workplace sexual harassment, according to KPIX.

The Felton Institute dates to 1889 and has an annual budget of $17-million, from which it funds a variety of services for low-income at-risk San Francisco families. Mr. Bennett has taken the blog down, but in a cached Aug. 19 post, he said his writing is devoted to his spiritual beliefs and expresses "my private opinions, unrelated to my work. There has not been a word in this blog that is sexist, racist, or homophobic."
