Seasoned Curator Named to Lead Boston's Gardner Museum

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum has appointed Peggy Fogelman, a museum veteran with extensive experience in curating exhibitions and shaping educational offerings, as its new director, The Boston Globe writes. Ms. Fogelman will join the Boston institution in January, replacing Anne Hawley, who is leaving the Gardner after 25 years at the helm.

A Connecticut native who was introduced to art early in life by her father, a physician and collector, she also held senior curatorial posts at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles and was chair of education at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
