Stephanopoulos Took Part in Clinton Global Initiative Events

George Stephanopoulos, the ABC News anchor under fire for failing to reveal to viewers his donations to the Clinton Foundation, also provided volunteer help to the affiliated Clinton Global Initiative for several years, writes The Washington Post.

Mr. Stephanopoulos moderated or sat on panels at the group's events in 2006, 2008, and 2009 and was a judge alongside Chelsea Clinton for its contests in 2013 and 2014, according to author Peter Schweizer, whose book Clinton Cash has further fueled controversies over the Clinton Foundation's fundraising and issues of transparency. The ABC anchor did not disclose his foundation giving or activities during a critical interview with Mr. Schweizer last month on his Sunday news show "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."

Several other prominent television news figures have taken part in Clinton Global Initiative activities, including CNN's Christiane Amanpour and Anderson Cooper, Greta Van Susteren of Fox News, and Matt Lauer and Tom Brokaw of NBC News.
