Tenn. Prep School Receives $19-Million From Anonymous Grad

The McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn., has received a $19-million gift from an anonymous alumnus, which officials of the private boys' academy said will be used to bolster the school's endowment, reports the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Interest from the 900-student school's investments supports tuition assistance and professional development for teachers as well as regular operations and programs. "[The] donor's gift reflects their belief in our mission, their pride in the school, and trust that their investment will be used wisely," said Lee Burns, McCallie's headmaster.
