Trump Says Clinton Foundation Should Return Money From Saudis

Donald Trump demanded Monday that the Clinton Foundation return millions of dollars in donations it reportedly has recieved from the govenrment of Saudi Arabia, Politico writes.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee slammed Saudi Arabia for doing little to stop radicalization of Muslims within its borders and accused his Democratic counterpart, Hillary Clinton, of giving it and other countries that donated to her family's charity favorable treatment while she served as secretary of state. The Wall Street Journal reported last year that Saudi Arabia had contributed between $10 million and $25 million since former President Bill Clinton established the foundation in 1999.

Referring to a national-security speech Ms. Clinton delivered Monday, Mr. Trumpw rite that she "says we must call on Saudi Arabia and other countries to stop funding hate. I am calling on her to immediately return the $25 million plus she got from them for the Clinton Foundation!” The Democratic candidate said last week that some donations to the foundation might have “slipped through the cracks” but that overall the charity has been highly transparent about its funding sources.
