U. of California Campus Receives $48-Million Bequest for Pulmonary Care

The University of California at San Francisco has received a $48-million bequest to study and treat pulmonary and lung diseases, the San Francisco Business Times writes.

The gift comes from the estate of Nina Ireland, a onetime aide to San Francisco’s mayor who died in October. Ms. Ireland had previously donated to the institution to establish a neurobiology lab and professorships in child psychiatry and pulmonary medicine.
