Almost all gala events share the same basic line-item expenses, no matter their scale or degree of formality, says Anne Corry, deputy executive director at New York Cares.
Ms. Corry says that her organization aims to keep event costs to no more than 20 percent of the overall gross revenue raised by the event — including ticket sales, sponsorships, and donations made to cover expenses.
