Rey Saldaña will become president and CEO next month. The son of two immigrants, he is a former San Antonio city councilman and an alumnus of this program, which keeps students on track to graduate from high school. Most recently he was the regional advocacy director at the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation.

Debbie Chang, senior vice president and chief policy and prevention officer at Nemours Children’s Health System in Jacksonville, Fla., has been named president and CEO of this $90 million grant maker that works to reduce poor health and violence.

Larry Lieberman will be the digital-education charity’s new CEO. Most recently he worked as a producer of podcasts, television, and online media in New York. He was also chief operating officer at Charity Navigator until 2018.

Paige Alexander, executive director of the European Cooperative for Rural Development, has been appointed CEO of the Carter Center, effective June 16. She will succeed Mary Ann Peters, who is retiring after almost six years at this nonprofit group founded by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, in 1982.
Jason Brown, interim director of the Carnegie Science Center at the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh since December 2018, has accepted the position on a permanent basis.
Carol Pierce Goglia, senior director of marketing and communications at the Communities Foundation of Texas, has been named president of United to Learn.
Mary O’Donnell, vice president of the RRF Foundation for Aging, will become president in May. She succeeds Irene Frye, who is retiring after 11 years at this group, which was formerly known as the Retirement Research Foundation.

Doug Cress has joined the Ocean Conservancy as vice president for conservation, focusing on trash and plastic. He is the former CEO of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Allison Mays, director of grant writing and agency advancement at Mount Rogers Community Services, has been appointed senior advancement officer at Emory & Henry College. She is a 1995 graduate of the college.
Carmita Padilla, vice president of partnerships and initiatives at Health Leads, has been promoted to chief program and sites officer.
Sarah Danzig Simon, assistant head of school for institutional affairs at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, has been named chief development officer at the Boys’ Club of New York.
Departure
Robert Massey, CEO of Louisville Orchestra, is departing after one year.
Legacy
A.E. Hotchner, a biographer and playwright who created the Newman’s Own Foundation with his friend, the late actor Paul Newman, died on February 15 at the age of 102. He and Newman also co-founded the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a nonprofit group that offers services and operates a summer camp for seriously ill children in Connecticut.
