Feed the Children Fills 2-Year Vacancy at the Top
More than two years after ousting its founder and longtime public face amid a bitter leadership struggle, Feed the Children has named a Washington-area nonprofit executive as its new president and CEO, says The Oklahoman.
Kevin Hagan will take office at the Oklahoma City-based relief charity on June 4. He is currently chief operating officer at Good360, an Alexandria, Va., organization that collects toys, building supplies, and other products and distributes them to thousands of charities nationwide.
Feed the Children has lacked a permanent leader since it fired Larry Jones in November 2009, setting off a highly public feud and between Mr. Jones and the organization he had led for decades and made nationally famous for its heart-tugging television commercials. The two sides settled their legal fight last year, but two cases related to turmoil at the charity are still pending.
Mr. Hagan signed a three-year contract Wednesday that will pay him $340,000 annually. “There’s no doubt in my mind that God had a hand in putting me here,” he said.
