Lilly Endowment
$25 million through its Youth Program Resilience Fund to support 297 youth-serving organizations across Indiana as they address the challenges that young people face during the Covid-19 crisis. The grants range in size from $5,000 to $800,000 and support charities that serve children ages 5 to 18.

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
$10 million to the pharmaceutical company Icosavax for its Covid-19 vaccine program’s Phase 1 clinical trial in young and older adults, which is expected to take place in mid-2021.
Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation
$10 million to the Legacy Foundation to name its new community center in Merrillville, Ind., after the family.
Dean White was a billionaire who owned the Whiteco Advertising Company, a billboard company in Merrillville. He died in 2016 at age 93. Barbara White died in 2018 at 92 years old.
Harold Alfond Foundation
$6 million challenge grant to the Paul J. Schupf Art Center, a collaborative project between Waterville Creates and Colby College. The art center must raise $1 million to receive the full match.
Francine A. LeFrak Foundation
$5 million to Barnard College to establish the Francine A. LeFrak Foundation Center for Well-Being, which will provide services to students to support their physical and mental health, holistic wellness, and financial literacy.
UnitedHealth Group
$4 million over four years to the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine for a psychiatry summer program that aims to expand and diversify the pipeline of psychiatrists who treat children and adolescents in California.
Ford Foundation, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and Omidyar Network
$3 million to create the Carry on the Fight Fund, which will support grassroots organizations as they use momentum from the 2020 elections to advocate for policy change, keep elected officials accountable to campaign promises, and build up community organizers for the long term. The first round of grants will support groups in Arizona, Louisiana, Michigan, and Minnesota.

State Employees’ Credit Union and the SECU Foundation
$3 million partial challenge grant to the North Carolina Community Foundation. Of the amount, $2 million will support local charities through the foundation’s North Carolina Healing Communities Fund during the Covid-19 crisis, and a $1 million challenge will help raise additional money for the Healing Communities Fund.
Walton Family Foundation
$2.6 million to the Arkansas Parks and Recreation Foundation to develop a 28-mile network of trails at Pinnacle Mountain State Park, River Mountain Park, and Two Rivers Park, all of which are in the Little Rock metropolitan area.
DeBakey Medical Foundation
$2 million to Baylor University to create the Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., Selma DeBakey, and Lois DeBakey Chair for Medical Humanities within the Baylor College of Arts & Sciences.
The three DeBakey siblings all taught at the Baylor College of Medicine. Michael DeBakey died in 2008, followed by Selma in 2013 and Lois in 2016.
John S. and James L. Knight Foundation
$250,000 to Military Veterans in Journalism to create journalism fellowships, virtual workshops, and resources to help military veterans find jobs in newsrooms.
