Henry Timms, who spearheaded the launch of post-Thanksgiving philanthropic holiday Giving Tuesday, has been appointed to head Jewish cultural and community center the 92nd Street Y, The Wall Street Journal writes.
Mr. Timms, a British-born Episcopalian, is the first non-Jew to lead the 140-year-old Manhattan institution, which hosts a prominent series of talks, readings, and concerts. He has worked with the Y for the past five years, developing technology-focused community initiatives and most recently serving as interim executive director.
