Deloitte Consulting
$1.5 million to Lutheran World Relief to support a program to increase access to legume seeds among small-scale farmers in Uganda. The program’s goal is to motivate seed companies with a financial payout based on their growth in sales of quality, certified seeds.
Maier Foundation
$1.3 million to University of Charleston to develop and sustain programming for the university’s Innovation Hub. The grant includes a $1-million endowment for student scholarships and $300,000 for start-up assistance for the initiative.
