Here are notable new grant awards compiled by the Chronicle:

Iconiq Impact

$200 million commitment through its Youth Mental Wellbeing Co-Lab to support nonprofit programs that work to reduce anxiety and depression among young people around the world.

Grantees in the first round will receive five-year unrestricted grants. Among them is Artolution, whose programs help young people from marginalized communities use art to express themselves and strengthen their mental health, social inclusion, and job skills.

Here are notable new grant awards compiled by the Chronicle:

Iconiq Impact

$200 million commitment through its Youth Mental Wellbeing Co-Lab to support nonprofit programs that work to reduce anxiety and depression among young people around the world.

Grantees in the first round will receive five-year unrestricted grants. Among them is Artolution, whose programs help young people from marginalized communities use art to express themselves and strengthen their mental health, social inclusion, and job skills.

Open Philanthropy

$120 million over three years through its Abundance and Growth Fund, which will make grants to efforts to advance economic development, drive scientific and technological progress, and lower the cost of living.

Good Ventures contributed $60 million to the fund.

Rancho Mission Viejo

$50 million to the Providence Mission Hospital Foundation to expand the hospital’s campus in Mission Viejo, Calif.

The ranching company’s grant will back a new tower, expected to open in 2030, that will be named the Rancho Mission Viejo Family Tower.

Paul M. Angell Family Foundation

$10 million to the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center to support brain health and develop precision therapies for Alzheimer’s disease.

New York Community Trust

$8.3 million to 43 nonprofits to address critical needs in New York City, including expanding access to affordable housing, cancer care, education, support for immigrant communities, services for older adults with autism, and local and national climate advocacy and resilience.

Richard L. Boland Love for Life Foundation

$7.5 million to Marquette University’s College of Nursing to endow its Institute for Natural Family Planning.

John Templeton Foundation

$2.7 million to the University of Texas at San Antonio for epigenetic research on how non-genetic hereditary diseases originate.

Bezos Family Foundation

$2.2 million to the Mount Sinai Parenting Center to enhance education for health-care providers on social, emotional, and cognitive development during early childhood.

Raytheon

$2 million commitment to the University of Arizona to back programs within its College of Engineering’s Student Design and Innovation Center, including collaborative classrooms, an advising center, and the Raytheon Student Leadership Suite.

Salesforce

$2 million to six organizations through its Agents for Impact Accelerator to help education nonprofits and institutions use artificial intelligence to strengthen their programs and outcomes.

John S. and James L. Knight Foundation

$1.7 million over three years to the First Amendment Coalition to develop a financial and fundraising strategy to sustain its operations and hire three new employees to support local journalists.

Hannaford Supermarkets

$1.3 million to six organizations in New England and New York to expand access to nutritious food and opportunities for physical activity among children in need.

Dena Care Collective

$1 million commitment to make direct cash grants and offer other aid to residents of the historic Black communities in Altadena and Pasadena, Calif., who were displaced during the Eaton Fire.

New Grant Opportunities

Charter Communications is accepting applications for its Spectrum Digital Education grants program. This year, the program will award a total of $1 million in grants to nonprofit organizations that work with families or older adults to expand access to internet connectivity tools, education, and resources in the communities in 41 states where the company does business. Applications are due March 28.

Comcast NBCUniversal has committed $2.5 million through its NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants, which will give unrestricted cash awards to nonprofit groups that foster storytelling, youth education and empowerment, or community engagement. Organizations must have an annual operating budget of more than $100,000 but less than $1 million and be within the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Hartford, Los Angeles, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, or Washington, D.C. Applications are due April 11.
