Charities in Minnesota whose online fundraising suffered technological snafus on a statewide giving day last month will get a rebate on credit card transaction fees from the organization responsible for the breakdown, the Star Tribune of Minneapolis writes.
Web-based giving platform Razoo and its Razoo Foundation said it will reduce the fee from 5 percent to 4 percent for the affected charities. A morning rush of donations on the Nov. 14 Give to the Max Day overwhelmed Razoo’s servers and the affiliated GiveMN.org site that hosted the event, causing a slowdown in processing donations that lasted nearly five hours.
The fifth annual online giving marathon raised $17.1-million for 4,400 Minnesota nonprofits.
