Missouri donors Barbara and Andy Taylor have given the St. Louis Art Museum $21 million to endow its directorship, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The gift from Ms. Taylor, the museum’s former board president, and her husband, who is executive chairman of the Enterprise car rental company, will enable the museum to spend more on operations while remaining competitive in its search for leaders. Two-thirds of the museum’s $30 million dollar budget is provided by the City of St. Louis and from St. Louis County property taxes.
