Mr. Black, 61, and Debra Black, 58, pledged $48-million to Dartmouth College to support its new Black Family Visual Arts Center, which will house Dartmouth’s studio art, film, and media-studies departments and digital-humanities program.
As part of the donation, Mr. and Mrs. Black commissioned the artist Ellsworth Kelly to create a wall sculpture that is displayed near the new center.
