President Obama and his wife, Michelle, donated $150,034 to 33 charities last year, or 24.6 percent of their adjusted gross income, according to tax forms released today.
The largest gift, $103,871, went to the Fisher House Foundation, a group that provides free or low-cost housing to military personnel and their families while they are receiving treatment at military medical centers.
The Obamas made donations of $100 to $5,000 to a mix of health, education, and social-service organizations, including the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and United Negro College Fund.
