Yamide Dagnet, director of climate negotiations at the World Resources Institute, will now serve as director for climate justice, a new role at the $3.5 billion foundations.
Brooklyn Museum
Kimberly Panicek (KP) Trueblood will become its president and chief operating officer next year. She follows David Berliner, who has led the museum since 2016.
Panicek is currently chief of staff at the American Civil Liberties Union.
SportsMom Foundation
Stacey Stewart, president and CEO of March of Dimes, has founded this new nonprofit group to help girl athletes succeed in academics and sports in college. She will serve as its first president while concurrently leading March of Dimes.
More New CEOs
J Thomas Forbes has been named president and CEO of the Indiana University Foundation after serving in the role on an interim basis for the past year. Previously he was CEO of the IU Alumni Association.
Eric Hodel has been promoted from chief operating officer and chief financial officer to CEO of the Midwest Food Bank. He succeeds its co-founder David Kieser, who will remain president of its board.
Jonathan Kartt, who most recently led programming and evaluation at the Rita Allen Foundation, will be the next CEO of the Lipedema Foundation.
Erik Rönmark has been promoted from vice president and general manager to president and CEO of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, effective March 7. He will succeed Anne Parsons, who has led the performing-arts group since 2004 and will now retire.
Marisa Aurora Quiroz, vice president of culture and impact at the International Community Foundation, has been promoted to president and CEO.
Other Notable Appointments
Rita Andolsen, vice president of marketing and communications at Cleveland State University, has returned to the MetroHealth Foundation as executive director of philanthropy communications. She previously worked there from 2014 until 2020. In addition, Mary Wheelock has joined the foundation as executive director of philanthropy. Most recently she was executive director of the ALS Association’s Northern Ohio Chapter.
Wendy Beach, a marketing and communications consultant, has been hired as vice president of marketing and communications at Lutheran Services in America.
Lavastian Glenn, director of racial and economic justice and senior director of programs, has been promoted to vice president of programs at the Nathan Cummings Foundation.
Kellie Chavez Green has been promoted from director of nonprofit leadership and effectiveness to vice president for programs at the Greater New Orleans Foundation.
Michelle Edgerton, a Minnesota consultant who specializes in fund raising and executive leadership, has joined United States of Care as its chief development officer. In addition, Kristin Wikelius has been promoted from senior director of policy to chief program officer.
Harold Feldman, a nephrologist and epidemiologist who studies kidney disease, will join the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute as its first deputy executive director for patient-centered research programs, effective July 1. He is currently director of the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine’s Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
Liz Jellema will join Creative Fundraising Advisors as chief operating officer in January. She comes to the consulting firm from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, where she worked as director of operations and strategic initiatives at the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation.
Maliha Sadiq, manager of marketing and communications with ClimateWorks Foundation, is now director of communications at the Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Fund.
Marlo Turner, vice president of development at the Tidewell Foundation, will join the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens as vice president and chief advancement officer in January.
Loune Viaud, executive director of Zanmi Lasante, has returned to Partners in Health as its chief gender and social equity officer. She previously worked there from 1988 until 2012.
Bobby Zappala, chairman of Ascender, has joined the Richard King Mellon Foundation as a program officer, focused on social-impact investments.
Departures
Alice Greenwald, president and CEO of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, intends to depart in 2022. She has worked at the museum since its creation in 2006.
Arlene Shuler will step down as president and CEO of the New York City Center at the conclusion of its 2022 performance season in June. She has led the performing-arts group since 2003.
