Ari Simon has joined the social-media company as its head of social impact and philanthropy. In this new role, he will oversee $17 million in expected grant making this year and an expansion of the company’s philanthropic efforts.
Most recently he was vice president and chief program and strategy officer at the Kresge Foundation.
Genesys Works
Jeffrey Artis, national director of corporate engagement at Year Up, has become CEO of this Houston nonprofit group, which connects high-school students with work opportunities.
He succeeds David Williams, who has departed after two years.
Isaacson, Miller
Ericka Miller, a partner in the company’s education-focused practice, will become president and CEO of this executive search firm for nonprofit groups on July 1.
She will follow Vivian Brocard, who is retiring after 18 years at the company and five years as its president.

Lynn Boulger, dean of institutional advancement at the College of the Atlantic, has been hired as executive director of the Authors Guild Foundation.
Robert Casamento, general manager at Globality, has been named president and chief acceleration officer at Givewith, a technology company that helps companies integrate their social-impact strategies. In addition, Alan Mayer has been appointed chief revenue officer. He most recently led global customer strategy and advocacy at Dell.
Joe Hollendoner, CEO of San Francisco AIDS Foundation, will join the Los Angeles LGBT Center in July as executive director. He will work alongside Lorri Jean for a year until her planned retirement in July 2022, at which time he will become CEO. Jean joined the health and advocacy organization in 1993 and has been its CEO since 2003.
Cindy Plavier-Truitt, chief business officer, has been installed as president and CEO of Humanim. She has served as interim CEO since Henry Posko retired in September.
Kresge Foundation
The $3.8 billion foundation has named three moves in its grants-management department.
Mary Beth Baumeister, grants manager at the Skillman Foundation, has joined the foundation as grants manager.
Joyce Holliman was promoted from grants-management associate to senior grants-management associate.
Michael Williams, an associate program officer, was promoted to program officer with the Detroit program.

Todd Apo, senior vice president of community development at the Howard Hughes Corporation, has joined the Hawaii Community Foundation as vice president of partnerships and public affairs.
Arlene Cox has been promoted from chief of staff to chief operating officer at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. She has worked at the $2.9 billion grant maker since 2005.
Margi English, chief development officer at Habitat for Humanity of Greater San Francisco, has joined Leadership Roundtable as partner for institutional advancement.
Heather Gawron, executive director of institutional advancement at American International College, has been appointed senior director of development at New England Public Media.
Erik Gjesfjeld, a fellow in the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research and a research fellow at Fitzwilliam College at the University of Cambridge, has joined the John Templeton Foundation as a program officer in human sciences.
Aimee Hendrigan has been promoted from vice president of programs to executive vice president at the Melville Charitable Trust.
Christopher Hotaling, chief financial officer at Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley, has joined Ferd and Gladys Alpert Jewish Family Service as chief financial officer.
Amanda Johnson has joined the ASXL Rare Research Endowment Foundation as chief development officer. Most recently, she was director of development at the ARVO Foundation for Eye Research.
Carlos Rangel, director of investments at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and leader of its Expanding Equity work, has been promoted to vice president and chief investment officer. He replaces Joel Wittenberg, who has retired after 11 years.
Anthony Karefa Rogers-Wright, national adviser for Green New Deal programs at the Climate Justice Alliance, has been appointed director of environmental justice at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest.
Christopher Smith has been named chief financial officer at Enactus, a global network of social entrepreneurs and leaders working for the public good. Previously, he was chief financial officer at GiveGab.
H Walker has been hired as diversity, inclusion, and equity officer at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Most recently he was director of diversity, inclusion, and equity at the McDonald’s Corporation.
Peter Wilch, vice president for development at the University of San Francisco, has joined Loyola Marymount University as senior vice president for university advancement.
Departures
Dee Dee Brantley, chief operating officer at the San Francisco Foundation for the past 11 years, plans to retire next month. In addition, Ruben Orduña will retire in May after eight years at the $1.5 billion foundation, most recently as chief of philanthropy.
