Pulitzer Center Appoints Next CEO

Lisa Gibbs will be the next CEO of the Pulitzer Center.

Lisa Gibbs will be the next CEO of this journalism organization that offers educational outreach and grants to bolster news reporting.

She has worked at the Associated Press since 2014, and was most recently its vice president for philanthropic development.

Ms. Foundation for Women

Ruth McFarlane has been promoted to deputy CEO.

She has worked at the women’s rights group since 2019 and was most recently its chief advancement officer.

Pulitzer Center

Lisa Gibbs will be the next president and CEO of this journalism organization that offers educational outreach and grants to bolster news reporting. She will start on June 17.

She has worked at the Associated Press since 2014, and was most recently its vice president for philanthropic development.

Gibbs will succeed Jon Sawyer, who founded the Pulitzer Center in 2006.

Ms. Foundation for Women

Ruth McFarlane has been promoted to deputy CEO.

She has worked at the women’s rights group since 2019 and was most recently its chief advancement officer.

Philanthropy Massachusetts

Mary Skelton Roberts, president of the Climate Beacon Conference, has been tapped as CEO.

She replaces Jeffrey Poulos, who has left after 13 years to become head of partnerships at the social-impact start-up Impala.

Television Academy Foundation

Anne Vasquez, CEO of EdSource, will be its next executive director.

She will report to Maury McIntyre, who will remain president and CEO of the charitable arm of the Television Academy.

More New CEOs

Tyler Greenman, assistant chief financial officer for the Diocese of Salina, Calif., is now CEO of the Catholic Foundation for Diocese of Salina.

Paul Lotierzo will serve as the first executive director of Project Pride SRQ, a LGBTQ advocacy group in Sarasota, Fla. Most recently he was chief development officer at Civic Influencers.

Pamela Gavin has been promoted from chief operating officer to CEO of the National Organization for Rare Disorders. She succeeds Peter Saltonstall, who has served as its president and CEO since 2008 and is now retiring.

Theresa Roedersheimer, senior early-childhood policy adviser for the North Carolina Division of Early Childhood and Early Education, has been hired as executive director of the North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation.

California Wellness Foundation

The $1 billion grant maker has hired four new program staff members.

Javier Hernandez, director at Avivar Capital, has been hired as director of investments.

Jessica Martinez Pulido, a strategist on community engagement for the California Office of Community Partnerships and Strategic Communications under Gov. Gavin Newsom, has been hired as a program officer for the Equity in Access and Economic Security and Dignity portfolios.

Tommy Morris has been appointed program officer for its Community Well-being and Leading for Power and Change portfolios. He was previously program associate for the Liberty Hill Foundation’s California Funders for Boys and Men of Color Portfolio.

Juan Reynoso, a senior planner and researcher for the consulting firm Raimi + Associates, is now a program officer for the Community Well-being and Leading for Power and Change portfolios.

Other Notable Appointments

Johanna Depenthal, a researcher who specializes in forest resources and conservation, will now serve as director of project research at Cool Effect, a conservation nonprofit group that supports projects in carbon-emission reduction and removal.

Andrea Gentry will be promoted from director of development to vice president for development at the University of Southern Indiana, effective July 1.

Robert Laws, former director of operations at the Boys & Girls Club of North Central Metro Atlanta, has been appointed director of operations at Rainbow Village.

Faith Motter, vice president of development at Raleigh Rescue Mission, has been named vice president of development at the Community Foundation Boulder County.

Delite Travis, executive director of Providence Mission Hospital Foundation, will begin as vice president of development at Whittier College on June 3.
