Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum
Nancy Yao, president of the Museum of Chinese in America, has been named the founding director of the forthcoming museum in Washington.
She will start her new role on June 5.
Columbus Museum of Art
Brooke Minto will become its executive director and CEO on May 15. Currently she is executive director of the Black Trustee Alliance for Art Museums.
She will succeed Nannette Maciejunes, who served as the Ohio museum’s executive director for 20 years.
Kalamazoo Community Foundation
Grace Lubwama will begin as president and CEO of the $649 million community fund in July.
She has been CEO of YWCA Kalamazoo since 2014.
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
E. Anders Kolb, a pediatric hematologist oncologist, will start as its president and CEO on May 1. He is chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology at Nemours Children’s Health, Delaware Valley.
Kolb will follow Louis DeGennaro, who has spent nine years as the leader of this organization that raises money for blood-cancer research and patient care. DeGennaro will retire on June 30.

Sonya Anderson, president of Thrive Chicago, will be the first executive director of Together Rising. This nonprofit group was started by the author Glennon Doyle to raise money for families, children, and communities.
Mindee Barham, chief philanthropy officer, and Sarah Smirnoff, chief product officer, have been promoted to serve as co-executive directors of the Scratch Foundation. Together they have led the technology-education group at MIT on an interim basis since October.
Óscar Chávez, assistant director of the Sonoma County Department of Human Services, has been named president and CEO of the Community Foundation Sonoma County.
Laura Freveletti, senior program officer at the Allstate Foundation, has been appointed CEO of the Les Turner ALS Foundation, effective April 10. She will replace Andrea Pauls Backman, who is leaving after eight years as its leader.
Deborah Lindenberg, a program officer at the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, has been hired as executive director of Capital for Children.
Charlotte Min-Harris has been promoted from chief operating officer to president and CEO of the National Service Office for Nurse-Family Partnership and Child First. She has served as acting president and CEO since July.
Sharon Sewell-Fairman, CEO of the Workforce Professionals Training Institute, has been tapped as president and CEO of Women Creating Change.
David Trulio, managing editor and head of strategy and editorial operations at Fox News Digital, has been appointed president and CEO of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute.
Robert van Leer will be the next executive director and CEO of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Most recently he was senior vice president of artistic planning at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Other Notable Appointments
Suhaly Bautista-Carolina, senior managing educator of audience development and engagement at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will now serve as director of public programs and partnerships at the American LGBTQ+ Museum.
Angela Farwig has been appointed vice president of public policy, advocacy, and research at Chicago-Illinois Action for Children. Previously she was a senior policy adviser at Advance Illinois.
Heather Hill, head of foundations and executive director of the U.S. foundation at Chapel and York, has been promoted to head of international philanthropy at the fundraising consulting firm in London. She is based in New York.
Shalin Jyotishi, senior analyst for education and labor at New America and a fellow at the World Economic Forum, has been appointed senior program manager at the Burning Glass Institute, a new nonprofit think tank that analyzes the labor market.
Jake Lemon, president and CEO of the University of Connecticut Foundation, has been hired as vice president for philanthropy and alumni engagement at the University of Kentucky. He succeeds Tom Harris, who filled the role in an interim capacity for the past year and will now return to his position as vice president for university relations.
May Ng, vice president and chief investment officer at the Annie E. Casey Foundation, will join the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as chief investment officer on April 17. She will follow Brian O’Neil, who has guided its $14.8 billion endowment for more than 20 years.
Taylor Ogden has become director of development at Franklin College. Most recently she was director of development at the Orchard School, in Indianapolis.
Xander Perry, director of private-capital investments at the Annie E. Casey Foundation, has been promoted to vice president and chief investment officer at the $4.2 billion grant maker.
Jessamyn Sabbag, executive director at Oakland Rising and Oakland Rising Action, has joined the San Francisco Foundation as senior director of its Power Pathway.
Roger Sweis, chief financial officer at Community Health Councils in Los Angeles, has joined Essential Health Access as chief financial officer.
Departure
Max Marmor, president of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, intends to retire in December. He has led the $80 million arts foundation since 2007.
