Tenement Museum
Kevin Jennings, former executive director of the Arcus Foundation, was named president of the museum. He will replace Morris Vogel, who has announced plans to retire this summer after nine years at the institution.
The museum, founded in 1988 on New York’s Lower East Side, receives about 250,000 visitors a year and recently completed a $20 million capital campaign.
Mr. Jennings, who led Arcus for five years, is a former history teacher who founded the advocacy group GLSEN, which works to end discrimination and bullying based on sexual orientation and gender identity. He also served in President Obama’s education department.
