The Philanthropy 50

By  Maria Di Mento
February 14, 2023

America’s biggest donors gave $16 billion in 2022. This year’s report features our analysis of the list, giving trends among megadonors, and a look at Philanthropy 50 donors’ giving to and from their foundations and donor-advised funds in 2022.

The report highlights some of the country’s most interesting philanthropists, including Karen and Rob Hale, who gave a large gift to one nonprofit each week last year, and donors who are giving big toward the future, as well as a look at how a small college in Kansas landed a $500 million contribution.
