A new website put up by Donald Trump to raise money for veterans’ causes directs all contributions to the Republican presidential candidate’s personal foundation, online news outlet The Federalist reports. The site, donaldtrumpforvets.com, went live Thursday in connection with a pro-veterans rally the GOP front-runner hosted in Des Moines, Iowa, rather than taking part in that night’s Republican presidential debate.
The site states that “100% of your donations will go directly to Veterans needs” but also includes a disclosure at the bottom of its single page that funds go to the Donald J. Trump Foundation. Since 2010, the foundation has donated $75,000 to organizations serving veterans, of about $5 million in overall giving, according to NBC News. The Trump campaign said Thursday night that the Iowa event raised $6 million, the Associated Press writes.
