W.K. Kellogg Foundation
Alvin Herring has been named director of racial equity and community engagement. He comes to the foundation from the PICO National Network, a coalition of faith-based community-organizing groups, where he has served as deputy director of faith and formation.
The Rev. Herring, an African Methodist Episcopal minister, will help manage Kellogg’s programs and grants related to racial equality, racial healing, and community engagement. He will also work to integrate these elements into the foundation’s national grant-making strategy and community-based programs in Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, and New Orleans.
