Joanna Jackson, who has served as its interim president and CEO since October, will remain at the helm of the $850 million grant maker permanently.
She has worked at the foundation for social justice since 2008, and was most recently its vice president of programs.
Disability and Philanthropy Forum
Sandy Ho, program director of the Disability Inclusion Fund at Borealis Philanthropy, has been tapped as the forum’s executive director.
She succeeds Emily Harris, its inaugural executive director who will retire on July 1.
Greater Milwaukee Foundation
Greg Wesley, senior vice president of strategic alliances and business development at the Medical College of Wisconsin, will be the $1.1 billion community fund’s next president and CEO.
He succeeds Ellen Gilligan, who will now retire after more than 10 years at the helm.
Rebuilding Together
Maureen Carlson has been promoted from chief strategy officer to president and CEO of this affordable-housing nonprofit that repairs homes in marginalized communities across the United States.
The group was the recipient of a $9 million unrestricted gift from the billionaire MacKenzie Scott in October.

Sanda Balaban will become executive director of Project Pericles in July. Currently she is co-founder and director of YVote/Next Generation Politics. She will succeed Jan Risë Liss, who has led the civic-engagement organization since 2005.
Felicia Blow has been named executive director of the University of Virginia Community Health Foundation. A fundraising consultant at Walker Blow Consulting, she is the former associate vice for development at Hampton University.
Liz Frederick has been promoted from chief operating officer to executive director of Avenues for Justice. She succeeds its co-founder Angel Rodriguez, who is stepping down after 45 years at the helm.
Stephanie Love-Patterson, executive director of Connections for Abused Women and their Children, has been named president and CEO of the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
Janis Rosheuvel, program director at Solidaire, will become executive director of the Building Movement Project, effective September 16.
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
Dee Minnite, who has served as chief collections, exhibitions, and design officer since August, will continue in the role permanently. She was previously director of exhibitions and program management.
In addition, Sheila Shin will be promoted from chief experience officer to chief operating officer, effective August 1.
Other Notable Appointments
Andrew Bacher-Hicks, an assistant professor at Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education and Human Development, has been appointed vice president of evidence and evaluation at Arnold Ventures. In addition, Jennifer Laudano has joined the grant maker as vice president of advocacy and health care. Most recently she was senior director of communications and community engagement at the National Academy for State Health Policy.
Laurence Bazer has been appointed vice president of the JCC Association of North America and director of the JWB Jewish Chaplains Council. A rabbi, he most recently served as the deputy director of the National Guard Bureau Office of the Joint Chaplain and chief of religious affairs at the Army National Guard.
Leelee Brown, director of development at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, will now serve as chief development officer at the Partnership to End Addiction.
Dana Deighton has joined the Melanoma Research Alliance as director of communications and engagement. Most recently she was associate director of outreach and strategic partnerships for the National Institute of Health’s All of Us Research Program at Scripps Research Translational Institute.
David DeWitt, lead development officer at Indiana University Southeast, has returned to Franklin College as director of development and planned giving. He previously worked at the liberal-arts college from 1996 to 2000 as director of planned giving.
Alexandria Featherston-Gomez has been promoted from grants officer to grants management and learning officer at the Kenneth Rainin Foundation. She has worked at the $609 million foundation since 2017.
Paul Gatling, editor and associate publisher at the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal, has joined the University of Central Arkansas as senior director of northwest Arkansas engagement.
Hieu Nguyen will become vice president for advancement and college relations at Reed College on July 1. Currently he is vice president for advancement at Harvey Mudd College.
Tracy Shaw has been named chief development officer at Entrepreneurship for All. Most recently she was executive principal at Thread Strategies, a fundraising and nonprofit consulting firm.
Jessica Vones, director of major gifts at the Broward Health Foundation, has been named director of philanthropic services at the Community Foundation of Broward.
Erica Waller, financial controller at the ViplaA Firm, will serve as the first chief financial officer at the Center for Nonprofit Advancement.
Susan Wood, executive director of university development at Washington and Lee University, will be promoted to vice president for university advancement on July 1. She will succeed Tom Jennings, who is stepping down after four years there.
Elham Youssefian is now director of disability inclusion and accessibility at the International Refugee Assistance Project. A blind human-rights lawyer who was born in Iran, she was most recently a senior adviser for humanitarian, disaster risk reduction, and climate action at the International Disability Alliance.
Departures
Deb Grabowski, CEO of the Foundation for Seacoast Health since 2007, plans to retire at the end of the year.
Roxie Jerde, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s president and CEO since 2011, will retire in June 2025.
Dan’l Lewin, president and CEO of the Computer History Museum since 2018, intends to retire after the museum has hired a successor.
Diane Mahoney will step down as president and CEO of the Bay Area Community Foundation on September 24. She has led the community fund in Michigan since 2017.
