Suzanne McCormick, U.S. president of United Way Worldwide, has been tapped as the YMCA’s next president and CEO. When she starts her role in September, she will be the first woman leader in its 170-year history.
She will succeed Kevin Washington, who is retiring after six years at the helm.
International Center for Research on Women
Peggy Clark, executive director of the Aspen Global Innovators Group, will be its next CEO. She will begin her new role on October 4.
Clark is also the founder of Realizing Rights: The Ethical Globalization Initiative, a group that advances human rights as a driver of solutions to major global challenges.
Charles Stewart Mott Foundation
Carlos Santini has joined the $3.2 billion foundation as CEO of Mizzen by Mott, a program that offers resources to bolster after-school programs for young people across the United States.
Most recently he was executive vice president of programs for After-School All-Stars.
New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund
Makeeba McCreary will be its first president when she takes the helm next month. Currently she is chief of learning and community engagement at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Cesar Aleman will now serve as director of the Connecticut Urban Opportunity Collaborative, a new group that coordinates the antiracist efforts of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, and Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. Most recently he was an organizer for the Greater Hartford Interfaith Action Alliance.
Robyn Schryer Fehrman, managing director of the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, will be the next president and CEO of Enactus. She succeeds Rachael Jarosh, who has departed after five years there.
Audrey Haberman will become CEO of the Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation next month. Currently she is managing director of the Giving Practice.
Keron Sadler, CEO of the Maryland LGBT Chamber of Commerce, has been selected as executive director of the Maryland Association of Resources for Families and Youth.

Nicholas Almeida, chief service officer at the City of San Jose and a senior adviser to its mayor, will now serve as chief operating officer at Mission Investors Exchange.
Derrick Anderson, managing director of university design at Arizona State University and senior adviser to the university’s president, is joining the American Council on Education as senior vice president for learning and engagement.
Anjana Berde, managing director and head of talent development and learning for the Americas at MUFG Bank, has been hired as chief people officer at Accion Opportunity Fund.
Stuart Clarke, vice president of strategic initiatives at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Studies, has joined the William Penn Foundation as program director of watershed protection.
Nidhi Dubey, senior vice president at Global Health Strategies and the country director for Girl Rising in India, has been appointed head of global programs at Girl Rising. She succeeds Judithe Registre, who stepped down as vice president of programs in July.
Ramona Dallum Lindsey, a program officer at the Community Foundation of Louisville, has been promoted to vice president of equity and impact, a new position at the Kentucky community fund.
Carrington Moore has joined King Boston as the director of community organizing. He is associate pastor of discipleship and families at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Boston, as well as a program director at the Massachusetts Council of Churches.
Michelle Legaspi Sánchez, executive director of the Fund for Women and Girls, will next serve as a client consultant with the advisory services team at the Nonprofit Finance Fund.
Anna Szczepanek, program director at the Virtue Foundation, has been named deputy director at Penta Medical Recycling, a nonprofit organization that collects and redistributes used prostheses in good condition to international amputees in need.
Sarah Thompson, executive director of the Southwestern Commission in Sylva, N.C., has been named vice president of impact and economic opportunity at Dogwood Health Trust.
Justin Williams, interim vice president and chief development officer at Boston Medical Center since November, has accepted the job permanently. He has worked there since 2013, most recently as director of new business development.
Departures
Roberta Kaplan, a lawyer and co-founder of the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund, has resigned from the group. Supporters of Time’s Up took issue with her role in giving legal advice to departing Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York last winter following accusations he had sexually harassed multiple women.
Jim McDonough, executive director of the Alphawood Foundation since 2012, plans to retire on October 1.
August (Augie) Napoli will retire as president and CEO of United Way of Greater Cleveland on June 30, 2022. He has led the group since 2016.
Legacy
Tadataka Yamada, a vaccine researcher who served as the executive director of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Health program from 2006 until 2011, died on August 4 at age 76.
