Director of Planned and Legacy Giving

The Salvation Army Kentucky/Tennessee Division is seeking a Director of Planned and Charitable Giving for the world’s largest charitable organization that is “doing the most good.”

We are committed to providing programs for families and children through shelter, after school programs, ending the cycle of poverty, and programs that combat human trafficking.

The Divisional Director of Planned Giving will be responsible for engaging The Salvation Army’s donors to secure planned gifts.  The Director will manage a portfolio of donors-prospects and lead the gift planning team of two Associate Planned Giving directors in Kentucky and Tennessee.

This position will:

• Lead and supervise Associate Planned Giving Directors with the responsibilities of soliciting and securing planned gifts throughout division
• Manage, coaches, and trains staff for performance
• Work with Planned Gift strategies and vehicles
• Provide regular production and activity reports for leadership
• Donor development and relationship responsibilities

We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of success in leading a Planned Giving program and the following skills and experience:

• 5-7 years’ progressive development experience 3 of those in Planned and Legacy Giving
• 2+ years’ successful management experience

• Proven track record of planned giving achievement
• Knowledge of best practices in planned, estate, legacy giving
• Prior experience traveling with job, willing to travel overnight
• Affinity for the mission of a worthwhile Christian cause
• Bachelors’ Degree from a four-year accredited college or university
